Technical Assistance to Brownfields communities (TAB)

TAB is a national program funded by EPA headquarters via grants to universities and not-for-profit-organizations. K-State is one of the universities. We assist communities in Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, and Wisconsin.

Under the TAB program, the Center for Hazardous Substance Research (CHSR) at Kansas State University assists various communities throughout EPA Regions 5 and 7 with their revitalization issues. We provide technical assistance regarding environmental assessment and cleanup needs; serve as liaison between the community, state or federal agencies, and other entities; help adress the needs of environmental justice communities; empower community groups and their leaders by providing relevant infirmation; review and explain technical reports; and offer information and training.
